Sibley-Ocheyedan School District
Education is a top priority in the Sibley-Ocheyedan
School District. Students find a high quality
and progressive environment in which to learn. Local
student ACT scores average higher that the state and
national averages. The Sibley-Ocheyedan school district
boasts four schools, which have all been renovated
and updated.
Multi-media centers in each building, computer laboratory and computers in each classroom from elementary through high-school all provide the newest learning tools.
Awards for Sibley-Ocheyedan High School’s Academic Decathlon team, band, vocal, speech, as well as an outstanding fine-arts show, concerts and athletic events involve the students as well as the rest of the community. The FFA chapter is the second largest in the state and has developed its own state of the art computer-learning center.
For the youngest students, Sibley offers the Little General’s Pre-School, a two or three day program. In conjunction with the Pre-School is the Bright Beginnings Day Care, which offers childcare programs starting with infants. Groundbreaking on the new facility has begun, and will be attached to the elementary school in Sibley.
The High School in Sibley is a hub for Iowa's Communication Network (ICN). The ICN network connects all 99 counties in Iowa through state institutions, universities, and community colleges.
